  • Seminar for Gori-based Public School Teachers

    On December 7-8, 2012 the Making Sense of EU information seminar was conducted for Gori-based public school teachers.

    The event was dedicated to the discussion on the EU institutions, the role of the European Union in global politics, and EU-Georgia relationship.

    Up to 30 teachers (of geography, civil education and history in the main) representing 12 different public schools based in Gori were attending the workshop.

  • Georgian Media Guide 2012 Published

    Internews Georgia, with the financial backing of Open Society Georgia, has published Georgian Media Guide 2012, the print version of Media.ge’s media atlas.

    The Guide embraces brief data about 67 newspapers and magazines, 28 online editions, 33 radios and TV companies. The update of online database and its printing coincided with pre and post parliamentary election periods having ensued the changing of hands and formats of some media outlets and even closures.

    Trilingual web portal Media.ge is the first one having launched updatable online database Map.Media.Ge and published online version to celebrate its 7th anniversary. The guide will be handed out free of charge among NGOs, media outlets, educational institutions and State agencies.

  • Ambassador of Great Britain Holds Informal Press Conference for Our Express Journalists

    On December 14 the journalists of the youth program Our Express were invited to an informal press conference held at the Embassy of Great Britain in Georgia. The meeting lasted for about 40 minutes. Judith Gough, Ambassador of Great Britain to Georgia told young journalists about her impressions, differences between the conditions the non-formal youth in Georgia and Great Britain live in, education system and many more issues of interest.

  • Making Sense of EU Seminar for Kutaisi-Based Public School Pedagogues

    On December 2-3 the Making Sense of EU seminar was organized by Internews Georgia for Kutaisi-based public school pedagogues. The workshop was dedicated to the issues such as European integration, role of EU in global politics and EU-Georgia cooperation.

    In Georgia, where the freedom of speech and expression is guaranteed by the Constitution no one complains about the scarcity of media outlets but out of over 200 newspapers, Internet editions, TV and radio stations Media.ge is the only mean of media gleaning and disseminating information mainly for media or the organizations concerned about the work of media.

  • Our Express to be Aired on Mze TV from March 26

    Internews Georgia youth program Our Express is getting back on TV air. Starting from March 26 Our Express will be aired through Mze TV on Fridays at 19:30 hrs.

    The program was left without TV air in January 2009 though the TV stories were posted on its website http://blog.teentv.ge.

  • Training Course in TV Reporting on Children Issues. Tbilisi, December 7-16, 2009

    Internews Georgia, in cooperation with Radio Netherlands Training Center (RNTC, the Netherlands) and Media Development Center (MDC, Bulgaria) welcomes applications for a ten-day training course in TV reporting on children issues. 12 TV journalists are eligible to take part in the training. Upon the completion of the course the participants will be awarded certificates.

    The application deadline is November 25, 2009.

    Internews Georgia, in cooperation with Radio Netherlands Training Center (RNTC, the Netherlands) and Media Development Center (MDC, Bulgaria) welcomes applications for 10 days training course in radio reporting on minority issues.

    Twelve journalists are eligible to take part in the training. Upon the completion of the course the participants will be awarded with certificates.

    Deadline for applications is 25 November, 2009.
