Our Express” (Chveni Ekspresi) - a weekly 20-25-minute television program for youth has been produced by 15-21 year old young journalists since 2005. Internews equips young participants with journalism knowledge and skills, helps them to form or maintain proper attitudes, and coordinates the production. Our Express serves as a platform for Georgian youth to voice their concerns or views about the issues that affect their lives and lives of their peers every day. Our Express is a video content created by youth for youth. The project was first broadcasted by Channel One (Public Broadcaster) and later by a private television company Imedi. The project is currently broadcasted by another private television company Mze. The program is also delivered through the web: http://blog.teentv.ge/ and/or http://www.youtube.com/user/internewsgeorgia.

Media.ge – a tri-lingual (Georgian, English and Russian) informational web-resource about the Georgian media. Formed in 2005 the portal currently serves up-to 2,000 subscribers of its daily news bulletin and on average 700-900 daily unique users/readers. At present the project is supported by the Open Society Georgia Foundation and National Endowment for Democracy (NED).

The overall objective of the Georgia Initiative for the Enhancement of Broadcast Training Activities (GIEBTA) is the improvement of the informational and educational role of electronic media in the enhancement of civil society in Georgia by strengthening the capacity of Internews Georgia to design and deliver training for media professionals in Georgia in order to address the informational needs of civil society. The project started on July 1, 2007 and will be completed on June 30, 2010. GIEBTA is implemented in partnership with the Radio Netherlands Training Center (RNTC) and Media Development Center (MDC, Bulgaria) with the financial support of the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the MATRA program.  

Media Activities: Maximizing EU Presence in the ENP region-Armenia, Azerbaijan & Georgia-The action has been implemented since 2009 with the financial support of the European Union. The overarching goal of the Georgian part of the action is to distribute information about the current relations and cooperation between the EU and Georgia within the framework of the European Neighborhood Policy; raise awareness about the projects and programmes implemented in Georgia with the support of the European Union; promote the European values; stimulate free and objective debate in the society about the work of the European Union; Within 17-months period of time Internews Georgia will produce 10 twenty-minute documentary films which will be broadcasted by Rustavi 2; Two young journalists from “Our Express” will travel to Europe and reflect their trip in television reports. The project also includes design of 16 four-page monthly supplements to the national newspaper 24 Hours and production of 64 fourty-minute talk-shows by Radio Green Wave.

 With the support of the European Union Internews is currently implementing “Making Sense of the EU” project. The goal of the action is to design and organize informative seminars for university students in 6 target central cities (Gori, Kutaisi, Batumi, Telavi, Zugdidi and Akhaltsikhe). The seminars cover the following topics: EU enlargement, European institutions and policies; on-going political relations and cooperation between the EU and Georgia.
