Assistance of the EU to Georgian IDPs

Discussed issues:
The guests of the broadcast highlighted the crucial role of IDPs social and economic integration, the EU initiatives in cooperation with Georgian government on improvement of accommodation and living conditions of IDPs, and other enforcements made by the EU for IDPs settlement.
Deputy Chairman of IDP Women Association ‘Consent’ Marina Pochkhua figured out a project funded by the EU `for yours and our rights’ and made a brief outline of main objectives and activities implemented within the project which outcome in qualitative study of IDPs current social-economic and healthcare issues, organization of professional requalification courses, and judiciary protection.
A representative of Ministry of Refugees and Settlement of Georgia enclosed a State Program and Priorities on the issues of IDPs throughout Georgia.
In order to focus on the common opinion of IDPs on training courses and main threat of their welfare in the future, correspondent of radio Green Wave prepared reportage interviewing IDPs settled in Karaleti and Shavshvebi.
The third guest of the program - person, who has not been in his premises since 2008 August war, drew the listeners’ attention to the importance of the training courses and rehabilitative actions made by Association "Consent" with the support of the EU.
