Cooperation with the EU in transport sphere, transportation corridor "Traseka" linking Europe, Caucasus and Asia

 Discussed issues: 

 The guests of the transmission discussed the importance of “Traseka” transportation corridor for the applicant countries including Georgia. Radio-listeners heard out the brief history of the project and familiarized with the investment and technical projects being currently implemented within the framework of the abovementioned program.

It was mentioned that the enhancement of Georgia’s geopolitical and economic capabilities significantly depends on the development of communication-transportation network. The changes executed during the recent years for the purpose of transforming country’s transport infrastructure according the European standards were also subject of the discussion.

It was also discussed in the transmission how the project assisted its applicant former Soviet Union Republics to be less reliant on the Russian Federation in political and economic perspective.

The guests talked about future development strategy and perspective of “Traseka”.

At the end of the transmission listeners were provided with the information on the details of joint agreement between European Union and Georgia about Airspace Communication. Mamuka Vatsadze, the Head of Georgia’s transport Department discussed the rationale and importance of this agreement.
