Sunday, January 31, 2010

The film is about one of the projects funded by European Union in one of the regions of Georgia – Kakheti. That project is one of the components of the reforms carried out in primary health care system. Primary health care outpatients' clinics were built and equipped in 53 villages of Kakheti region; that enabled local residents to receive qualified primary medical aid locally.

The Outpatients' clinic situated in the village of Manavi is one of the success stories of that project. The film also touches upon the problems of Kasristskali village where an outpatients' clinic was built, but has been closed for the last two years because the doctor refused to work there due to the village's remoteness. However, in a month after the film was finished the clinic in Kasristskali village started to work again and currently the local residents receive full medical aid.
