Together with many important issues, in the working plan of EU and Georgia they talk about increasing food safety and supporting trade, in the way of reforming and modernizing sanitary and phytosanitary service.
This issue became actual again in political parties . In the Agrarian Issues Committee of Parliament declare, that the terminated Articles of “Food Safety and Quality” Law must come in force by stages and the control on food quality and safety has to be established .
Invited guests spoke how the regulations of food safety corresponding to EU are operated in Georgia, how the government controls food quality and it’s safety. What are the existed mechanisms in the field of food safety at present and what are the future plans.
Audience had opportunity to listen to the food safety expert, Matti Lampi, who spoke about the dependence of EU countries towards these issues. Every manufacturer producing food has to believe, that coming “Food Safety and Quality” law in force is inevitable process and they have to know, that adopting this law will not be delayed.
