Our Express to be Aired on Mze TV from March 26

Internews Georgia youth program Our Express is getting back on TV air. Starting from March 26 Our Express will be aired through Mze TV on Fridays at 19:30 hrs.

The program was left without TV air in January 2009 though the TV stories were posted on its website http://blog.teentv.ge.

"In October 2008 we had a conflict with Imedi TV our program used to be aired through," said Irakli Berulava, Producer for Our Express and Production Manager for Internews Georgia, "I didn't even want to make any comments on that incident... Just we were told at Imedi TV they couldn't air the TV story featuring the dispersal of the Halloween party organized by teenagers since that would incite the fury of the Orthodox. It of course made no sense to maintain cooperation with the TV company of a kind."

The Our Express informal alternative TV stories covering the Georgian youth-related problems are mainly produced by teenagers.

"The films produced by them have taken part in various international festivals, we have won many times. In the future, I would like Our Express to turn into the platform for the ones thinking in an informal original way," said Irakli Berulava. According the program producer in the course of different workshops, including international ones, the youth are taught video filming and editing.

"In the future we would like create a whole package of youth programs that will enable dissentient youth to destroy modern monotonous television," Berulava said.

The weekly our Express (running time 20-25 min) is a  collection of music videos produced on TV stories, films, improvised talk shows and music by alternative youth rock bands. Any youngster aged 15 to 20 striving to study and develop in a creative way enjoys a possibility to suggest the program (http://blog.teentv.ge/) his/her ideas and initiatives and get involved in their implementation.
