Supporting election process in Georgia

Expert Consideration: Nino Lomjaria – Georgian Young Lawyers Association. Coordinator of Election projects.

The invited guests talked about  the significance of elections, about the citizen’s rights and responsibilities to take part in elections.

They introduced to the audience the project “Support of Dialogue and raising effectiveness  for the development of effective electoral process”, which is implemented by financial support of European Union with UNDP programme  “International Society for  Fair Elections and Democracy “ and “Center of Electoral Systems Development, Reforms and Trainings”

Invited guests talked about the project’s goal and directions.

Tamar Jvania mentioned, that the main goal of the project is supporting elections and maintaining effective electoral process. One of the main directions of the project is to reach a consensus in the central issues of electoral legislation.

Natia  Zaalishvili, director of the “Center of Electoral Systems Development, Reforms and Trainings” talked about the center’s activities. Nino Dolidze directed her attention to the  inevitability of raising awareness towards election processes, which is one of the main goals of the project
