Documentary Film "Lessons in Leadership"

Special trainings are held for village leaders in Ozurgeti and Chokhatauri districts (Guria region in west Georgia). The goal of the project is to support development of local self-government, which implies active involvement of local population in the work of the district’s municipal councils (sakrebulos). The project is implemented by nongovernmental organization Civil Society Institute with the financial assistance from the European Union. During the trainings the village leaders are told that if they know their rights they can be more self-assured when dealing with municipalities. 

The project is implemented in 8 municipalities of 4 regions of Georgia. The trainings were launched in Kakheti, Shida Kartli, Guria and Adjara regions from March 1, 2009 and 151 leaders have already been trained.
