Making Sense of EU Seminar for Kutaisi-Based Public School Pedagogues


On December 2-3 the Making Sense of EU seminar was organized by Internews Georgia for Kutaisi-based public school pedagogues. The workshop was dedicated to the issues such as European integration, role of EU in global politics and EU-Georgia cooperation.

34 geography and history teachers representing different public schools based in Kutaisi took part in the seminar.

The speakers at the workshop included VasilChkoidze, President, Centre for European Integration Studies, KakhaGogolashvili, Director, Center for European Researches, and LikaGlonti, Head of the national Tempus office.

The workshop participants were made aware of the history of the European integration and various stages of

EU expansion, EU's institutions and foreign and security policies, EU-Georgian cooperation and  the role of EU in conflictresolution in Georgia. The EU educational exchange programs and the procedures to receive scholarships were particularly focused on.

Discussions were conducted after the discussion of every topic.

In the course of the workshop the documentaries entitled EU in the World, Road to Europe – Lithuania, and Green Route were shown to the participants.

Upon the completion of the workshop all of the participants were awarded with certificates.

Information workshops are planned to be held for Akhaltsikhe and Batumi-based public school teachers.
